My Story

After 35+ years as a successful entrepreneur, business and thought leader, Andrew has taken his creative writing skills and launched a new career path as an acclaimed author and inspirational keynote speaker.

Andrew is an award-winning executive and has won many coveted awards for his winning achievements. He was heavily recruited as Vice-President of Sales and Operations for the start-up dot.com company AllApartments (SpringStreet), eventually merging with Realtor.com to create the mega real estate site HomeStore.com. HomeStore.com went public in an IPO in 1999.

Andrew has been a sought-after inspirational leadership speaker, sales trainer and keynote presenter for dozens of companies around the country. Companies like Teradyne, Package Concierge, Cort Furniture and dozens of other high-powered national sales organizations have used Andrew to honed their peoples sales and customer service skills. As a creative writer, he has penned many inspirational and personal development articles that were published in national magazines and newsletters around the country and is an accomplished songwriter.

A self-proclaimed work-a-holic, Andrew was so driven to ensure HomeStore’s success that he found himself working 70-80 hours a week-6 to 7 days a week. At the time he didn’t realize he was neglecting other areas of his life, like working out, eating healthy and reducing his high stress. Because of this out-of-whack lifestyle he contracted a rare autoimmune disorder called Scleroderma. Stress can kill you!!

Scleroderma is a chronic connective tissue, autoimmune disorder, under the umbrella of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Scleroderma comes from the Greek words: “sclero” meaning “hard” and derma meaning “skin”. The symptoms can manifest externally and internally. There is no cause or cure for this deadly disease. Andrew is afflicted with Systemic Scleroderma, which affects both the external (skin) and his internal organs (kidneys, lungs and heart).

In 2000, Scleroderma shut his kidney’s down and he almost died in an ER of a Phoenix Hospital. He lapsed into a coma and the doctors thought he would die that day… but 28 hours later, he came out of my coma. His doctors called him the “miracle man”! Many of his family and friends finally persuaded him to write a book about his ordeal: “A Celebration of Life- A Story of Hope, A Miracle & The Power of Attitude” was born.

He hopes you will now enjoy his new novel “The Magical Espresso Machine”.
